I Am Curves Part I: Mind & Spirit

Happy Monday divas! Have you ever just needed time to renew your mind and rejuvenate your spirit?  Many of us get caught up in the “hustle and bustle” and have completely exhausted ourselves. Well, over four months ago I was there – 100% there. I was not sure what I needed to do to get restored, so I took some time in prayer. In my conversation with God, it was clear that I needed to remove some distractions from my life. One was social media, primarily Facebook.

Now this was quite interesting to me because I do a lot of marketing on the internet, so how could I build my business, my brand, without utilizing my main marketing platform? In obedience to God, I started a 90-day journey with a commitment to renew my mind & spirit, body, and bank account. I am grateful for the obedience to God for this journey.

Renewing and Your Mind

The first step in this journey was just to be open and honest with God. The biggest mistake that we could make is to hide our thoughts, our issues, and oumind-spiritr needs away from the one person that can help us. We find it easy for us to talk to individuals for advice about our issues. Although I believe in seeking council, let’s not substitute Godly council with personal thoughts and personal beliefs.

I realized within the first week, that the social media break was much needed from me. I needed to clear my mind of all the social media “drama.” Have you ever been sucked into the social media drama – business, fads, Hollywood, church drama, family drama…..drama, drama..drama? The problem is that this kept me from fulfilling my overall goals for this year. Now let me say, this is my story, my journey. I am not telling you that you need to go without social media. Perhaps some of you just need to do some deep searching to discover what is keeping you from reaching your goals.

I Can’t Live Without You

Life is interesting. So many times we find ourselves in a rut. Nothing seems to be going in the direction that we want it to go. We try changing jobs, business, churches, relationships, and friendships. Often times the one thing that we fail to change is our relationship with God. God is consistent and He is faithful. Oftentimes we find that we spend less and less time with God; we forget to spend daily prayer and devotion with God.

Church fellowship is not enough. It is that daily time in prayer and devotion is where you will find the answers that you are seeking. In this 90-day journey, I have been blessed to discover even more about my purpose and my assignment on this earth. One thing that I realize is that I can not live without God being the center and focal point of my life. Every decision that I make has to be a God decision. Do I always get it right? NO! And neither will you, but you have to keep pressing and keep seeking God in every decision of your life.
